Welcome to the Halifax Japanese Culture Collective (“HJCC”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, participation in our events and programs, volunteer involvement, membership registration, and donations made to our organization.
By accessing our website or engaging with our organization through any of these activities, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website and related services.
1. Use of Website
HJCC provides this website for informational, educational, cultural, and community-building purposes. You agree to use this website lawfully and respectfully.

HJCC welcomes volunteer participation in support of its programs and activities. Submission of a volunteer application does not guarantee acceptance, placement, or assignment. HJCC reserves the right to review, approve, decline, suspend, or terminate volunteer participation at its sole discretion. Volunteers are expected to conduct themselves respectfully, safely, and in accordance with HJCC’s values and event guidelines. HJCC is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage arising from volunteer activities except where required by law.
5. Membership
HJCC may offer community membership or registration opportunities. Membership registration does not create any legal ownership, employment relationship, or entitlement to organizational decision-making unless otherwise stated. HJCC reserves the right to modify membership structures, benefits, or requirements at any time.
5. Donations
HJCC accepts voluntary donations to support its programs, community initiatives, and organizational activities. All donations made to HJCC are voluntary. Payments made through our website may be processed by WordPress and its integrated payment providers, including Stripe. HJCC does not directly process or store full credit card or banking information. HJCC may retain limited donation records for administrative, receipting, tax, and organizational purposes. Unless otherwise required by law, donations are generally non-refundable. HJCC reserves the right to refuse or return donations at its discretion.
6. Youth Participation
HJCC supports youth involvement in cultural programming and volunteer opportunities. Participation by minors may require parental or guardian consent. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring appropriate supervision where required. HJCC reserves the right to request proof of consent for participants under the age of majority or under the age of 13 where applicable.
7. Intellectual Property
All website content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, event materials, educational resources, and organizational branding, is the property of HJCC unless otherwise noted. Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
